p.2 Travelling to and in Upper Canada - over 3 columns (see Chronicle June 29th) mentions all steamers in Upper Canada. [Montreal Gazette]

The Canal - It is reported in this place, that John Macaulay, Esq. of Kingston, has succeeded in obtaining a loan of £50,000, for the purpose of making the canal from this place to the head of the Long Sault. If this is the case, it is very probable the work will be commenced soon as we have been informed that the survey is nearly completed. [Cornwall Observer]
