p.2 Improvement of the River Trent - Mr. Baird, the Engineer employed by His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor to survey the River Trent, has completed the task assigned to him, and it is said that the enormous sum of £300,000 will be requisite, to accomplish this important improvement - a sum which the Province cannot at present afford to expend.
