Jan. 29, 1834

p.2 House of Assembly, Jan. 16th - The bill appropriating a sum of money (3,000 pounds) for the erection of piers to protect the channel lately formed through the isthmus of Long Point on Lake Erie, was read the third time and passed.

p.3 At a meeting lately held in Prescott, measures were taken for building a Steam Boat on Mr. Burden's plan, to ply between Prescott and Montreal. It is confidently expected that she will be able to ascend the rapids, and move through the water at the rate of 18 miles per hour.
