p.2 The St. Lawrence Canal - final decision of canal route to be the one originally surveyed by Mr. Mills. The contracts are to be given out on the 16th proximo, when they intend breaking ground on the following day, as a matter of course. [Cornwall Observer]

p.3 As the Enterprize was returning from Bytown last week, a child fell in the water near Chaffey's Lock; rescued by Mr. Hill, Editor of Chronicle.
