p.3 Buffalo Harbour - By the following extract from a letter, written by a gentleman, dated Cleveland, March 27th, 1843, it will be perceived the harbor of Buffalo cannot reasonably be expected to open before the 1st to the 10th of June next.

"The ice one mile from Buffalo out in the lake, is 32" thick, clear and solid, and at Erie, the ice is plump 36 inches thick & equally firm. Navigation is not expected to open by the most sanguine, before the 1st of June next."
