p.2 Navigation of the Welland Canal - operations of workmen are not affecting navigation. [St. Catharine's Journal]

Ports of Durham - Cobourg is not the only convenient place to land; at Port Hope, Darlington, and Bond Head the Royal Mail Steamer America and the steamer Union regularly call, as also the Royal Mail Steamer City of Toronto occasionally when required so to do.

p.3 The Ottawa & Rideau Forwarding Co. will be dissolved, and its business closed on the expiration of their agreement with Messrs. Macpherson & Crane in December next. The ruinous business of the last two years, and judgements against Macpherson & Crane amounting to $12,000 for losses at the fire in Kingston, have led to this; and an instalment of £7 10s per share is called in to meet demands. The company own large assets, which will probably reimburse the stockholders, if they bring near their value.
