p.2 Feat of Strength - We understand that several gentlemen of this city having some doubts with regard to a feat of strength, recently performed by one of the sailors of H.M.S. Cherokee, viz. lifting the best bower anchor of that vessel, weighing 17 cwt., offered a bet in regard to it. The test was to have come off yesterday at the Dockyard yesterday afternoon; but the skeptics not appearing, of course the affair was "knocked on the head."

Married - Walter McCuniffe, Esq., Harbor Master of this Port, to Mrs. Vallier, also of this City.

p.2 City Council - Report of Committee on Wharves and Harbours recommending that the pumps be fitted up, and also that the Light House be raised ten or fifteen feet higher. - Referred back, with power to act.
