p.3 Canal Tolls - The Canada Gazette announces a reduction of tolls on the Rideau Canal. For the future the rates will be as follows: Beef, Pork, Beer and Cider per barrel 1/4 d. per lock passed; Flour, Biscuit and Apples per barrel 1/6 of a penny per lock passed; His Excellency further orders and directs that no toll be hereafter exacted from emigrants forwarded at the cost of Government, passing through the said Canals.
The Gazette also contains a complete table of tolls to be levied hereafter on all the public works, with the new regulations. The document is a very lengthy one.
