136x23x4 Owned by B. Beveridge, Andover N. B. Sternwheel. Used on Saint John River. "Boiler is comparatively small to save weight and constant and repeated firing is necessary to keep the steam at the required pressure (90 p. s. i.). The centre of the boat from stem to stern is occupied by the cabins, the freight being stowed on each side. The upper deck affords a good promenade, but with nearly 150 passengers aboard, locomotion is sometimes difficult" (Montreal "Gazette" 1867).

As a prototype it is subject to occasional, unexplained interruptions in service ... because we keep trying new things.
