p.2 The Steamer Dawn - This vessel was launched at Sorel on Tuesday evening, and it is expected she will be in port early next week, to resume her trips to Hamilton. We understand she is like a new boat, and to all appearances as good as new. [Mont. Courier]

Yacht Racing - We understand there is a little more sport ahead, two matches having been arranged to come off shortly. Mr. Rutherford's challenge, as the owner of the Marianne, has been accepted by Mr. Collins, the owner of the Jenny Lind; and Mr. Burrowes' Sans Souci is to have a contest with Mr. Fowler's Jessie. The time for these races we believe has not yet been determined.

p.3 Precautions Against Fire From the Pipes of Steam Vessels - an Order in Council requires screens on smoke stacks before entering Lachine Canal. (similar to July 22nd)
