p.71 We have the best authority for stating, that Sir James Kempt, who lately inspected the whole route of the Rideau Canal, fully approves of Col. By's plans of operation, and, that the contractors have received orders to proceed with the work on an extensive scale. It is to be made for a steam-boat navigation. [(Perth) Independant Examiner July 5th]

Married - On Monday the 7th instant, by the Rev. W. Rollett Payne, Chaplain to the Dock Yard, Lieutenant Charles Holbrook, Commander of H.M. Schooner Cockburn, to Eliza Anne, eldest daughter of Stephen Yarwood, Esq. R.N.
