p.3 The Welland Canal is now open for the passage of Vessels from Lake Ontario to Lake Erie. Two vessels had passed through the Locks on the 2nd instant, one a standing keel schooner of 85 tons. The time occupied in ascending the locks, 32 in number, was five and a half hours. [U.C. Herald] with congratulatory editorial.
Notice is hereby given that the Welland Canal is now open for the passage of Vessels from Lake Erie to Lake Erie.
