Many persons are in the habit of sending letters by the Steam-Boat, under an impression that such a method of conveyance is a saving of postage. This is wrong. The Boat carries the Mail and other letters forwarded by the master, or otherwise, are subject to the same postage as those conveyed by the Land Mail.
