p.2 At a meeting of the Subscribers to the Stock of the Ottawa and Rideau Steam-Boat Forwarding Company, resident in Kingston, held at the Commercial Hotel on Tuesday, 3rd February, 1835 -
John S. Cartwright, Esq. was called to the Chair, and Thomas Kirkpatrick, Esq. appointed Secretary.
After the Chairman had stated the object of the meeting, and the inducements held out to the Stockholders -
It was moved by Dr. Sampson, and seconded by Mr. Cassady:
That a Committee be appointed by the Stockholders of this Town to correspond with the Committee in Montreal, and to procure Notes of hand from the several Stockholders, payable according to the terms of the subscription lists; and that the following Gentlemen be the Committee: Messrs. Yarker, Bruce, Gildersleeve, Counter, Kirkpatrick and Cartwright.
Moved by Mr. Mowat, and seconded by Mr. Counter:
That the valuation of the Stock of the late Ottawa Company, according to the statement now submitted, be agreed to, and approved of by this meeting, on behalf of the Stockholders of the Ottawa & Rideau Forwarding Company, residing in Kingston. [Chronicle]
