E. Beahen, Rene Beauchamp, Ron Beaupre, John Bedard, Brian Bernard, Duff Brace, Don Dube, Glen Gardiner, Ronald Graham, John Greenwood, Wes Harkins, Jim Hoffman, Gerald Hutton, Gerard Kapes, Andy LaBorde, Capt. John Leonard, Buck Longhurst, Howard Miller, Gerry Ouderkirk, John Philbin, Leslie Reading, Albert Short, Alan Sykes, Larry Tonnos, Fred Wagar, Duncan White, George Williams and George Zock. There will, undoubtedly, be additions to this list, and perhaps even some corrections, for there are several ports for which we have not received list ings, and there are several prominent vessels which do not appear anywhere in our list. If members will provide us with the necessary material, we will present a follow-up report in the March issue. Meanwhile, we hope that our readers will enjoy reviewing this extensive listing, and we hope that, in the future, researchers will find it to be of historical importance. * * * * * ADDITIONAL MARINE NEWS From the lay-up listing, readers will note that the C. S.L. self-unloader STADACONA (III), (a) THUNDER BAY (II)(6 9 ), is wintering at Ojibway. We have learned that her last trip of the 1 9 8 9 season took her to Calcite, Michigan, where her holds were washed out to rid her of ore dust before loading stone. Unfortunately, the wash water froze in her holds due to the severe cold, and it could not be removed, forcing the vessel to lay-up with some 5 ,0 0 0 tonnes of ice inside her. Extensive damage has been occasioned to her unloading gear and to her electrical system, but we understand that the decision has been made to repair the 3 8 -year-old vessel, despite the cost of the work. STADACONA has, in recent years, spent most of her time in the iron ore trade between Marquette, Michigan, and the Algoma Steel Plant at Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
