S. during the summer months, b ut we look forward to seeing members at the various observation spots around the lakes or perhaps on one of TRILLIUM's public harbour trips as she celebrates the eightieth anniversary of her commissioning. Our next regular meeting will be held on Friday, October 5th, at which time we will feature members' slides of their summer shipwatching activities. * * * * * * * THE EDITOR'S NOTEBOOK Our April Meeting featured four videos of marine interest, including tapes of BIRCHGLEN and E. M. FORD. Our thanks to Glen Gardiner for obtaining two other films from Canada Steamship Lines. The members present seemed to en joy this, our first full video night, and we hope to be able to arrange other such programmes in the future. Any suggestions concerning suitable videos will be appreciated. We would also like to hear from any members who might have suggestions for other types of programmes which we might consider for the 1990-1991 meeting season. By the time this issue appears in print, our Annual Dinner Meeting will be history, and we will have enjoyed the presentation prepared for the occa sion by Russ Brown and Gordon Shaw. We thank both gentlemen for bringing us this special SEGWUN event. We also appreciate the efforts of Bill Wilson, who handled ticket sales and all of the arrangements with the restaurant, and Gordon Turner, who arranged for the programme and acted as alternate ticket seller. Most of all, we are grateful for the support of all the mem bers and friends who attended the sell-out dinner. It is only with your sup port that we can hold these special events. * * * * * * * A FFILIATE D W IT H THE M A R IN E M U S E U M OF UPPER C A N A D A ISSN 0 3 1 8 - 0 1 4X
