The offi cia l records c o nf ir m the April, 1910, transfer of A l e x a n d e r Purvis' 32 shares in W I N O N A to James Purvis. The go ver nme nt records, however, show the date of transfer as Ap ril 13th, while our article showed the date as April 30th. In fact, we have a copy of the actual bill of sale before us as we write these words, and we can confirm that the date of ex e c u t i o n of the document was Ap ril 13th, 1910. We must apolo giz e for what a p p a r e n t l y was a ty po gra phi cal error in our Novem ber issue. The bill of sale is noted as ha ving been r eg is te re d on Decem ber 31st, 1910, by the r e g is tr ar of shipping for the port of Midland. We indica te d in our feature that WINONA was rebuilt s u b s t a n t i a l l y over the winter of 1918-1919 on the Wi ar t o n Marine Railway. The of fi cia l records show that the work was done by "Robert Nimo & Dobson" (sic). In our feature, we d e s cr ib ed the loss of WI NO N A by fire at Spragge, Ontario, on Novem ber 16th, 1931, the steamer having laid over at Spragge instead of re tu rni ng to Gore Bay on the 15th in c ons equ enc e of u n f a v o u r a b l e weat her conditions.
