Ron Tackaberry, who enjoyed sharing his collected lake ship photographs with our members. After his untimely death, his marine collection was sold in a series of silent auctions over a threeyear period. We are pleased to report that the Canadian Cancer Society r e ceived more than $1 0 , 500 in memory of the late Capt. Tackaberry as a conse quence of these sales. The driving force behind the organization of the sales of Ron Tackaberry's photographs was T. M . H . S. member Ronald F. Beaupre, of Port Elgin, Ontario, who donated countless hours of his own time in arranging the auction group ings, obtaining and verifying the many bids and collecting the funds. Ron accomplished a task that most of us never could have tackled and he deserves a great deal of credit for his efforts. Not only did his work benefit a major and most worthy charity, but it honoured significantly the memory of a much loved member of this Society. As well, the invaluable efforts of Gordon Turner, Alan & Sue Sykes, and Capt. Gerry Ouderkirk made the holding of the sales possible. A special word of thanks is expressed to all the T. M. H . S. members who participated in the auction and who contributed the funds who made this major donation to the Canadian Cancer Society possible. Our members care, and we want everybody to know it!
