XXVII - NO. 8 MEETINGS MAY 1995 Our May Dinner Meeting will be the last membership meeting of the current season. The first meeting of the 1995-1996 season will be held in Octo ber. Please watch the Mid-Summer issue for date and details. * * * * * * * THE EDITOR'S NOTEBOOK The April Meeting featured the programme of Alan Sykes dealing with the changes that have occurred in the U. S. lake fleet over the past 40 years. The meeting was very well attended and the programme well received, and we extend sincere thanks to Alan for the work he put into it. Our thanks also go to all those involved in the planning of the May Dinner, and particularly to Bill Wilson for selling tickets and making restaurant arrangements, to Gordon Turner for arranging the programme, and to Lorne Joyce for his presentation. The date chosen was an unfor tunate one, necessitated by restaurant availability, and we hope to do better next year. Your ink-stained Editor now begins his much-awaited summer vacation from "Scanner" deadlines, and will, he can assure you, enjoy his respite. Please watch for the Ninth Issue of Volume XXVII during August and, in the meantime, enjoy a happy summer of shipwatching. In the New Member D e p artment , a hearty welcome goes out to Glenn Smith, of Vancouver, British Columbia, to Shaun Varv, of Courtice, Ontario, to Craig Larkins, of Shelby Township, Michigan, and to James A. Klinger, of Chesapeake City, Maryland. AFFILIATED WITH THE MARINE MUSEUM OF UPPER CANADA ISSN 0318-014X
