XXXIII - NO. 8 MAY 2001 THE EDITOR'S LOGBOOK The April Meeting, with a full house, featured Jimmy Sprunt's slide and video presentation about a trip up the lakes on the 1, 000-footer INDIANA HARBOR. It was very well received and we all wished that more time had been available. Our thanks to Jimmy for a great show. By the time you read these words, the Annual Dinner Meeting will be histo ry, and Shame on You if you missed it! Our thanks to Alex Elliott, our speaker, for a great presentation; to David Bull for arranging the pro gramme, and to Bill Wilson for making the restaurant arrangements and sel ling tickets. A good time was had by all, so plan to join us next year. Our next issue of "Scanner" will appear in August, and our next meeting will be the first Friday evening in October. Ye Ed. now gets some time away from the keyboard, so please do not expect a June or July issue! We wish all of our members a pleasant summer of shipwatching. The Editor and the Chief Purser will be aboard ARCADIA for her first (June 16) trip on the upper lakes, calling at Bay City, Mackinaw City, Green Bay, Milwau kee and Charlevoix, so maybe we will see you at one of those places. It is to be hoped that the members will support ARCADIA in her return of affor dable cruising to the lakes for the first time since 1967. In the New Member Department, we extend a very hearty welcome to Ted Wickson of Toronto, to Andrea Curtis of Toronto, and to Malcolm McRae of Sarnia. We are pleased to have all of you with us in the Toronto Marine Historical Society. * * * * * * * Editor Jay N. Bascom 100 Whitehall Road Toronto, Ont. M 4W 2C7 Executive Committee Jay N.
