XXXV - NO. 6 MARCH 2003 MEETINGS Friday, April 4th - 7: 45 p. m. at the Swansea Town Hall. Ted Wickson will present an "album" of interesting historical images of Toronto Har bour. Please note our return to Friday evening for this meeting. Saturday, May 10th - Annual Dinner Meeting. Please see details below. THE EDITOR'S LOGBOOK We thank all those who came out for Ye Ed. 's showing of slides by the late Dyke Cobb. We enjoyed putting it together and those present seemed to enjoy seeing it. We would like to correct two errors that appeared on the cover of the last issue. Firstly, Ron's show of Jim Kidd's slides was in December; the Janu ary meeting featured the theme slide show, and we wanted to thank all who brought "deck cargoes". Secondly, Gerry Ouderkirk's March show is featuring Russel Bros. /Russel-Hipwell workboats (not "Hipworth"). Our apologies. The Annual Dinner Meeting will be held Saturday, May 10, in the Captain's Quarters aboard JADRAN, which is moored on the east side of Toronto's Yonge Street slip. Parking is available in two lots just east of the ship, and there is easy access via the T. T. C. (Bay bus or Harbourfront - Spadina streetcar south from Union Station to Queen's Quay). The cash bar will open at 6: 00 p. m., and the four-course dinner will be served at 7: 00. Speaker for the evening will be Jamie Hunter, Director/Curator of the Huro nia Museum, Midland, who will present "An Overview of James Playfair and His Financial and Personal Interests 1869-1937". This should be a very spe cial programme. Executive Committee J a y N . Bascom Roger C h a p m a n C apt. G. O u d e r k ir k R. F. B e a u p re L orne Joyce G. T u r n e r D av id Bull W . R.
