Please watch for details of the October Meeting in the Mid- Summer issue. * * * * * * * THE EDITOR'S LOGBOOK Who would have expected a massive freezing rain and ice pellet storm on Ap ril 4 th ? Nobody who believed that spring finally was here! But storm it did, and much as we all were looking forward to Ted Wickson's presentation, it was more important that our members stay safe in their homes and off the treacherous roadways. We hope to reschedule Ted's show for next season. By the time most members read these words, the Annual Dinner Meeting will have come and gone. Those who attended will have enjoyed a pleasant meal and Jamie Hunter's presentation on James Playfair. Those who did not attend missed a good evening. We extend thanks to Bill Wilson for arranging the dinner and selling tickets, to David Bull for arranging the programme and, of course, to Jamie Hunter for putting together the show. The next issue of "Scanner" will be the Mid-Summer number, which will come your way in August. Meanwhile, Ye Ed. will be enjoying a vacation from the keyboard, but please keep the marine news coming our way. And perhaps we will see you along the waterways during the summer months. In the New Member Department, we extend a hearty welcome to Dale Rex, of Tillsonburg, Ontario; to Violet Bostwick, of Brighton, Michigan, and to Brian Hill, of North Street, Michigan. And after a too-long absence, we welcome back Kenneth E. Thro, of Panama City Beach, Florida. We hope you all enjoy your T. M. H. S. membership. * * * * * * * ISSN 0318-014X Executive Committee Jay N. Bascom R. F. Beaupre David Bull Roger Chapman Lorne Joyce Capt. G. O uderk irk G. T u rn e r W. R. Wilson Editor Jay N.
