Please see details below. * * * * * * * THE EDITOR'S LOGBOOK The March Meeting featured a most interesting marine quiz put together by David Bull and Alain Gindroz, to whom go our most sincere thanks. All of those present enjoyed the quiz - and learned a few things, too! The list of items available in our current Silent Auction was included with the March "Scanner". Please remember that bids must be received by Gordon Turner no later than April 15th. And please be generous with your bids as the Society needs your dollars. The Annual Dinner Meeting will be held Saturday, May 7, aboard JADRAN, which is moored on the east side of Toronto's Yonge Street slip. Parking is available in two lots just east of the ship, and there is easy access via T. T. C. (Bay Bus or Harbourfront-Spadina streetcar south from Union Station to Queen's Quay). The cash bar will open at 6: 00 p. m. and the four course dinner will be served at 7: 00. Speaker for the evening will be Buck Longhurst, of Gore Bay, who will pre­ sent an illustrated history of the shipping operations of Capt. Frank Manzzutti and the Yankcanuck Steamship Company. The ticket price is $38. 00 per person, and the menu will include seafood chowder, caesar salad, choice of salmon or steak, and apple strudel. Please send your early remittance to our Chief Purser and, when paying, specify whether you would prefer salmon or steak as entree.
