We extend sincere thanks to the following who added additional information to last issue's listings: Ken Davis, Gerry Hutton, Alvon Jackson, George Lee, Carmen Paris, and Bob and Cindy Zimmerman. If we haven't given a listing for your local port, or gave only a partial list, it is because WE DID NOT HEAR FROM YOU. Please resolve to help us with this project next year. * * * * * MEMBERSHIPS One of the reasons we rely so heavily on the Silent Auction to make money for the Society each year is because we really need the funds. The T. M. H. S. can no longer support itself purely with memberships. Our numbers have been dropping, not because people give up on us (although the individual circum stances of members differ), but because many of our older members have passed on. Young people today seem to want their "jollies" for free from the internet, rather than joining traditional historical societies. But if each of us could bring in one new member, or re-recruit a recalcitrant, the So ciety would be in fine shape. Won't you please help? * * * * * ANNUAL DINNER MEETING Will we see YOU at the annual dinner on JADRAN on May 13? We'll be very sad if we don't. Please see details on Pages 1 and 2 and reserve right away for an evening of good food and congeniality. * * * * *
