XXXIX - NO. 7 MAY 2007 MEETINGS Following the dinner meeting, there will be no further entertainment meet ings of the Society until October. Please watch for details in the Mid- Summer issue. * * * * * * * THE EDITOR'S LOGBOOK The April meeting featured another visit to the Lloyd Tankers fleet cour tesy of Lorne Joyce who gave another of his fascinating presentations. The photos were great and L o m e ' s reminiscences were priceless. Thanks, Lorne. Following this issue, Ye Ed. now begins his summer vacation from the key board. No more nasty deadlines for a few months. But we'll be back to you with the Mid-Summer issue and, with a change in our personal circumstances, we should be able to have it to you in August. We wish all members the best of shipwatching until then. We extend sincere thanks to all who donated or purchased in our recent Si lent Auction. It appears that the auction netted the Society about $2, 500 so it was one of our best. Well done, all! By the time you read this, the Annual Dinner Meeting will be history and those present will have enjoyed a memorable evening. We thank Scott Cameron for his interesting programme on the steamer FRANCES SMITH and, as usual, we thank our Chief Purser, Bill Wilson, for making the arrangements with Captain John's restaurant, and also handling ticket sales. And we thank the restaurant for another excellent meal. If you were not amongst the happy crowd at this year's dinner, won't you please plan to attend next year? * * * * * * * ISSN 0318-014X
