p.2 Arrival of Gov-General Lord Elgin in Toronto on board Cherokee. [Globe]

p.3 Speedy Arrival - From Montreal Direct - The Beagle owned by Colcleugh & Greer, arrived on Friday last, with a general cargo from Montreal. Mr. Coleman, one of the consignees, had scarcely received intimation, by post of his goods having been forwarded, before he had notice of their arrival in port. [Dundas Warder Oct. 15th]

Forwarding - We are happy to perceive that produce is at length coming forward. Several cargoes have during the week entered the port. We noticed more particularly the arrival of the Jane & Eliza, the Prince of Wales and Steamer England, with cargoes. The latter vessel brought about 3500 bls., consigned to J.H. Greer and Co., and we were informed this morning that these gentlemen have about 10,000 bls. in transitu for Montreal. The advance in home prices reported by the last steamer, has no doubt given an impetus to the trade. We should certainly advise farmers to sell, taking if they please, the advantage of selling upon time in hope of realizing higher prices. [News]
