p.3 Open Navigation - ... The Cleveland Herald of the 24th ult. says the steamer United States leaves Buffalo this afternoon for Cleveland, Sandusky and perhaps Detroit. Navigation on Lake Erie is every bit as practicable today as it was the last day of July, for aught that we know. We presume there is not a particle of ice from Buffalo to Detroit, unless it may be a trifle in Sandusky Bay, which is of no account. From present indications, lake navigation will be resumed at an earlier day than usual.
