May 11th - Str. Farmer, Cape Vincent, in ballast.

Schr. Sophia, Port Hope, gen. cargo, J.H. Greer & Co.; Quebec Forwarding Company.

Str. Passport, Lachine, gen. cargo.

Schr. Shannon, Port Dover, 412 bbls. flour, J.H. Greer & Co.; 1150 do. do. Macpherson & Crane.

Str. Queen Victoria, Belleville, gen. cargo, E. Browne & Co.

Str. Cataract, Oswego, gen. cargo, E. Browne & Co.

Str. Rochester, Ogdensburgh.

12th - Prop. Syracuse, Ogdensburgh, no cargo, in ballast.

Str. Prince of Wales, Belleville, gen. cargo.

Schr. Clarissa, Toronto, 100 bbls. flour, E. Browne & Co.; 40 do. do. Glassford & Smith; 180 do. do., Quebec Forwarding Company; 80 do. pork, Calvin, Cook & Co.

Schr. Anne Jane Brown, Port Hope, gen. cargo, Glassford & Smith, and Quebec Forwarding Company.


Through from Montreal to Bytown in Daylight.

On and after Monday Next, the Passage Boats in this Line will run Daily (Sundays excepted).

The new and splendid Steamer Speed, will leave Bytown at 6 a.m. Passengers will reach Lachine in time for an Evening Train, and probably arrive at Montreal in time to take the Steamer for Quebec.

The Oldfield will leave Lachine immediately after the arrival of the 6 a.m. Train from Montreal, and Passengers will arrive at Bytown about 8 P.M.

Montreal, May 6th, 1848.


On Monday morning, 22nd May, at 11 o'clock, will be sold without reserve, at Beaupre's Wharf, head of Ontario Street,


Carrying about 750 bbls. each, with sails, etc. Terms liberal.

Also - A Five-Oared Gig, nearly new.

An English Ensign, 20 X 30 feet.
