p.2 For California - At a meeting held on Friday evening last, in the office of Mr. D.B. Jenkins, Mr. F. L'Estage in the Chair, it was stated by the Chairman, that the object of this meeting was merely to ascertain the number of parties willing to form themselves into a Company for Emigration to California. Capt. Cox read to the meeting a proposition for the fitting out of the Schooner Sophia, which was unanimously approved of; and it was agreed that an adjourned meeting be held on Tuesday next; the 20th inst., in the Rooms of Mr. Jenkins, No. 2 Harding's Buildings. (with advertisement) E.M. Carruthers, Secretary
