p.2 The following letter, under date of Montreal, Feb. 21st, to a gentleman in Sandusky, appears in the Daily Sanduskian:

Dear Sir - In reply to yours of the 3rd inst. I beg leave to inform you that, in case the reciprocity bill passes the Senate this month, the St. Lawrence will doubtless be at once opened to your vessels, if not, I fear its free passage will be retarded somewhat longer. No expense would be incurred under any circumstances. I exceedingly regret the necessity of delay, as the trade could not fail to be mutually advantageous.
