p.3 The Lake Navigation - There is now a warm opposition on the lake, especially from the port of Hamilton. There is added to the lake fleet a splendid boat, the New Era, commanded by Captain Maxwell, which combines all the comforts to be found in the vessels of modern build, added to which she is a clipper in speed.

The two lines of boats, all of the first class, are now conveying passengers from this port to Kingston for $2, inclusive. It will prove a boon to the public. We wish we could say we thought it would prove remunerative to the proprietors. [Hamilton Gazette]
