p.2 The Effects of Low Steamboat Fares - The Magnet left Kingston last evening, as fully loaded with human beings as she could hold. Upwards of 140 Cabin passengers, and twice as many Deck passengers. The Mart steamer Sovereign left at the same time, and, though her passengers were not so numerous as those of the Magnet, yet she was as fully laden with human beings, as any steamboat ought to be. When they have done quarrelling, if the steamboat proprietors would but agree among themselves to a low tariff, they would soon change the character of the Canadian people.
