p.2 The Steamer Gore, Capt. Fraser, with the troops on board, arrived at Sault Ste. Marie in safety on the 2nd inst.....The American propeller Independence was chartered to take the troops and stores from the Sault to Mica Bay, on Lake Superior, the location of the Quebec Mining Company. She was to leave the Sault on Wednesday last. The Gore left the Sault on Tuesday for Penetanguishene, where she arrived on Friday.... [Colonist]
