p.2 Opposition on Lake Ontario - The Syracuse Star understands that arrangements are in progress and nearly completed for a new and independent line of steamers on Lake Ontario next season, to run between Ogdensburgh, Oswego, Lewiston, and we suppose the intermediate ports including Rochester. The line will be composed of some of the first steamers that have ever been on the Lakes, and the proprietors are some of the most wealthy and enterprising men engaged in the business. We should like to know where these "first steamers" are "that have ever run on the lake," and who the wealthy enterprising men engaged in the business are. [Oswego Times]
