p.2 Promotion - We are happy to state, that the Lords of the Admiralty have been pleased to reward the long services of Mr. Ricolton, Clerk in charge on the Cherokee, on these Lakes, by his appointment to the rank of Paymaster and Purser. Commission dated 21st February, 1850. As Mr. Ricolton is going home, this promotion, being the only one in the vessel, must be highly gratifying to his feelings.
