p.2 Skiff Race - The match for the Championship of the Bay, about which the Long Islanders raised a wrangle at the late Regatta, will come off on Thursday next. It is said that both parties will be strongly backed. Eccles has great skill - the Rifleman has youth. If the former wins the race at his time of life, he ought to be satisfied with the honors he has gained and retire from the field.

A Card to Capt. O' Connor - a group of clergymen thank captain of steamer Lord Elgin for his attentions on trip from Lachine to Kingston.

Trial for Culpable Neglect - Some kind of criminal prosecution, by way of legal enquiry into the cause of death occasioned by the unhappy collision between the steamers Commerce and Despatch, will take place this present week at the Assizes at Niagara. We are unacquainted with the precise facts as they now stand....
