p.2 Buffalo, June 7th - The propeller Princeton ran into the schooner Mackinaw on Wednesday night last, ten miles off Cleveland, and sunk her in 7 fathoms water. The crew were all saved. She had a cargo of 10,000 bushels of wheat, consigned to Oswego. The vessel and cargo are a total loss.
Mr. Bethune's new boat, the City of Hamilton, made her trial trip from Maitland's Wharf to the Humber and back at 3 P.M. Her regular trips to Hamilton commence on Monday. Her machinery, which is nearly all new, and necessarily somewhat stiff, works in the most satisfactory manner, and it is confidently expected by her owner that she will make sixteen miles an hour when in regular working order. She is a remarkably handsome boat, both as to model and fitting up, and of great power in proportion to her tonnage. [Patriot]
