p.3 Another Collision - On Monday night, between ten and eleven o'clock, as the schooner Mountaineer was tacking up the Bay of Quinte she was run into by the str. Jane Miller, a little this side of Presque Isle, striking her in the starboard bow, knocking in her planks and causing her to leak badly. Fortunately she was laden with lumber and did not sink, but became so waterlogged that she had to be towed up.

The Sailors Union of Toronto has fixed the rate of wages for the remainder of the season at $1.25 per day for Lake Ontario and $1.50 through the Welland Canal.
