p.3 Navigation - On Saturday night the Pierrepont left the city for Cape Vincent. She found difficulty in working her way through the ice, and became jammed before she reached the head of the Island, where open water was found. There is no ice in the American channel, but lots of it in the Canadian channel, the navigation of which has been sealed for the winter. The Pierrepont returned yesterday with a big load of freight.
