p.3 Pier Repairs - Extensive repairs are being made to the ferry wharf foot of Brock street. New girders are being put down and part of the wharf will be replanked.

Ice Loading Stopped - Yesterday afternoon all the men engaged in the loading of vessels with ice near Garden Island were compelled to cease work on account of the dangerous condition of the ice. If this warm weather continues for a few days the ice crop will be ruined. The chartered vessels are not nearly loaded yet, and the owners are on the brink of despair. The vessel men below the bridge have not stopped operations.
