p.4 American Lighthouses - The U.S. board of light houses reports an appropriation of $400,000 necessary for the expenses of the year, and asks a further appropriation of $60,000 for fog signals on the Great Lakes. The following appropriations are recommended: For placing two ranges of lights in the prolongation of the dredged channel leading into the Ogdensburg harbour $2,755, for repairs at Crossover Island, Sunken Rock and Rock Island, in the St. Lawrence River $5,000, $6,204, and $1,436 respectively.
