p.3 Notice To Mariners - Notice is given that the fixed white light at Charlotte, N.Y., on the west bank of the Genesee River, will not be relighted on the opening of navigation in the spring of 1881. Near the beacon, on the pier at the mouth of the river, there will be sounded, during thick and foggy weather, a bell struck by machinery, at intervals of 80 seconds.
