p.3 Promoted To A Captaincy - We congratulate Mr. John Phillips, of Garden Island, upon his promotion to the rank of Captain. During the coming season he will command the large barge M.C. Cameron, owned by McArthur Bros., of Toronto, which will be engaged in carrying timber from Georgian Bay and Lake Michigan ports to Collinsby. Capt. Phillips is a young man, possessed of pluck and ability, and will, no doubt, reach the topmost rung on the "marine ladder."
