p.4 Loss Of The Oriental - The report of the minister of marine intimates that as a result of the investigation into the cause of the loss of the barge Oriental, that the barge was overladen, and that the condition of her hull and equipment was not such as would warrant her undertaking the voyage, with 650 tons of cargo, at that season of the year. She was also insufficiently manned.

p.8 Incidents Of The Day - The schr. Herbert Dudley, owned by Capt. Joseph Parsons, was sold to Capt. Rooney, of Cobourg, for $3,500.
