The steamer Magic arrived from Quebec last night on her way to Manistee to load lumber.

The schr. Ella Murton left last night for Charlotte, light. She will load coal for Toronto.

The schr. P. Bennett arrived last evening from Oswego, light. She is loading lumber at the K. & P. wharf.

The tug Charlie Ferris is waiting with seven barges laden with lumber for fair weather to go to Oswego.

Capt. Estes, of the steamer Sylvan Stream, was charged with maltreating a sailor but the evidence was not sufficient to sustain the accusations.

Capt. Towers, of the str. Ocean, was presented with a beautiful gold ring by a number of passengers who came down the lake on that steamer to Montreal, last week.

Anxiety was caused at Montreal because the steamer Lake Michigan which left here on Tuesday had not arrived there at the usual time. She had a few passengers on board besides her general cargo. The weather on the river during the past few days has been very rough. Her agent here says she will turn up all right.

Arrivals: prop. St. Louis, Toledo, 24,000 bushels wheat; prop. Rosedale, Chicago, 40,000 bushels corn and rye; schr. A.L. Andrews, Chicago, 24,000 bushels wheat; schr. Leighton, Chicago, 24,750 bushels corn; sloop Moravia, Clayton, light; prop. Rugee, Chicago, 62,553 bushels corn; steam yacht Ego, Cape Vincent.

The schrs. F.C. Leighton and A.L. Andrews had a good race from Chicago to Kingston. The schr. Andrews was ahead most of the way. When about Simcoe Island this morning they were side by side. They kept in this position until opposite Swift's wharf when the Leighton took the lead and arrived at the elevator about two lengths ahead.

Arrival Of A Steam Yacht - Geraldine from Perth, owned by Peter McLaren, bought from Mr. Laurie of Hamilton.

The Ambitious Village - The prop. John Rugee, with 62,000 bushels of corn arrived at Portsmouth yesterday. The shovellers have been making money and are very happy.
