p.1 Fire On a Vessel - About three o'clock Sunday morning fire was discovered in the cabin of the schr. Philo Bennett, lying at Breck & Booth's wharf. In the boat the owner had all the sails and ropes stowed away. When the firemen arrived the sails and ropes were pretty badly burnt. The stern of the vessel was also scorched. Daniel Bates is the owner. No one knows how the fire started. The captain intended to load her with ice for parties in Charlotte. The damages will be repaired at once.
