p.2 Ice Harvest at Clayton - much activity - rail cars being loaded. "The schr. Mary Lyons is being loaded."

The schr. Speedwell, Capt. Williams, arrived at Charlotte on Monday with 475 tons of ice for the Bartholomay brewing company. The ice was loaded at Whitby. The vessel left Whitby on Sunday. It is customary for the captain of the first vessel to receive a new hat, so Capt. Williams is expecting one from the Bartholomay brewing company.
