The schr. J. McBride cleared today for Emerald to load 2000 bush of oats for F.F. Cole.
The str. Armstrong will not be fitted up as an excursion boat as formerly, but will be finished roughly for cars.
W. Stevens, 1st mate of the prop. Scotia, has joined the schr. Norway and W. Watkins has shipped on the schr. Denmark.
The following vessels are on their way to the city: tug Walker and barges, Duluth, wheat; S. Neelon, Escanaba, to Collinsby, timber.
The str. Corsican, which should have arrived on Sunday, was detained in the Cornwall canal and did not reach here until yesterday.
Clearances: tug Edmond and barges, Ogdensburg; C. Ferris and barges, Oswego; barges Virginia and Maria, Ogdensburg, 1,200,000 feet lumber.
A survey was held on the Monteagle, which was run into by the Frontenac while lying at the dock in Escanaba. The damage will amount to $1,000 to $1,200.
The schr. J.G. Worts, discharging coal at Swifts dock, had a rough time in Thursday's gale. Two gafftopsails were blown off her and her mizzen mast was sprung. She will get a new spar here. (rest of column damaged)
