p.2 Conneaut, Dec. 17th - The steamer Mayflower went ashore last night, 5 miles below Conneaut, during one of the most fearful gales ever experienced on Lake Erie. She is a perfect wreck. Saw nothing from Monday evening till last night, when she went ashore on account of the storm and snow. The rudder chains and smoke-pipe were carried away. Nothing but the skill and coolness of the officers saved the passengers and all hands from death.
The propeller Oneida is ashore at Fairport. Crew all safe.
The steamer Atlantic is safe at Cleveland.
