p.2 Towing on the St. Lawrence - communication to Montreal Board of Trade from Public Works explaining why the government decided to withdraw from the towing business on the St. Lawrence and leave it to private enterprise.

Notice To Mariners - The Buffalo Collector has given notice to Mariners, that the Beacon Light heretofore on the Pier at the entrance of Silver Creek Harbour, has been removed to the Bluff, or point of land immediately above or west of said entrance. The light will be elevated about eighty feet above the ordinary level of the Lake, entirely above the lights in the town, from which it will be easily distinguishable. The Light of the old Beacon on the Pier will be discontinued.
